I really liked Obama’s Inaugural Address and I think he's a really good speaker, who can entrain the audience. But in my opinion the speech was quite sober and not as touching as his other speeches. But the following quote stayed in my mind:
"The time has come to reaffirm our enduring spirit; to choose our better history; to carry forward that precious gift, that noble idea, passed on from generation to generation: the God-given promise that all are equal, all are free, and all deserve a chance to pursue their full measure of happiness."
Barack Obama's inauguration speech was as impressive as always. He touched the million people who were standing in front of the white house, waiting for their new president to speak out, with his eloquence and ability of raising peoples' hope.
In the great audience almost every nationality was represented.
The importance of this first speech as president of the United States relies on the expactations of the citizens and on prooving that there's no empty promise.
I really liked his speech.maybe it was not his best and it might have been sober but it caught my breath. here i found two nice excerpts:
"Today I say to you that the challenges we face are real. They are serious and they are many. They will not be met easily or in a short span of time. But know this, America - they will be met. "
"In reaffirming the greatness of our nation, we understand that greatness is never a given. It must be earned. "
It's wonderful to have a president like Obama with his positiv attitude. time shows whether he will keep his pledges or not. I'm looking foreward to his term in office.

His dispatch of his speech was, that the problems can be solved in America, but only when all Americans work togehter. He said at the beginning, that the american dream and the power of the democray still existes. Because of all the people, who was waiting and hoping for all their life and had voted in the election, because they knew, that their votes will make the difference .
The change had started for America in the night of the inauguration day.
So we can only wait, if obama will keep his promisses.

I think the inauguration speech was very honest, sober and inspiring confidence. Following quote is the one that stayed in my mind and appealed most to me:
"Today, I say to you that the challenges we face are real. They are serious and they are many. They will not be met easily or in a short span of time. But know this, America--they will be met."
Unfortunately i didnt get to watch the speech when it was reported live in Germany. I wasn't at home at that time but as soon as I got home, I started watching tv and searched the internet for the speech. As it was only about 20 minutes ago that he gave it, first you could only read it but in the end i was able to watch it aswell.
I was amazed how many people were there to watch it and you could feel an immense energy.
Another thing I thought was really sympathetic was, when Obama was so nervous while swearing the sacred oath and it made him seem normal, just like anyone of us and that was something i quite liked.
The speech itself was really a great one and it referred to many things in history but also of the present. I think his ideas are really good and so many people trust in him so he should do all he can to fulfill his promises.
Surely it's a great thing that America voted for a young and black president like him and I'm sure it marks a great change. I'm glad Obama won this election because he can really combine blacks and whites, mainly because of his background.
Let's hope things will really change under his gouvernment, since the whole world needs those changes!
The whole world was looking on America yesterday because Obama held his first speech being the new president of the United State. It is a big step forward having such a young and black preisdent. I think it was a very good speech but it was not as touching as his inauguration speech.
It was nice to see the big crowd of people applauding and sreaming to Obama. You could see the hope in their faces and proundness of having a president how seems to understand them. They all believe in Obama and I hope he will deliver on his promise.
In his speech Obama talk about the things he wanted to change in America, the education, the health care and the problem in the east.
He pronounced that everybody in the United Staates is equal, free and has the right of pursuing of happiness.
In his inaguration speech Obama said that he will change the United States!
But I'm not sure if he can hold his promises in the next 4 years.
His aim is to renew the position of America in the world.
If he's able to make all his promises come true, he will be a much better
president than George W. Bush!!
